I spy, with my psychic eye
Yikes. We've already ripped the first monthly page off our 2007 calendar, but where's the year headed? We stopped by the Pike Place Market to ask Faye the Tattooed Psychic.
Will Seattle voters replace the viaduct with a tunnel?
No. Seattleites are tired of this issue. Also, I see a disaster happening if there is a tunnel; the ground is not sturdy enough.
Will the Sonics leave?
Yes. The owners don't want the Sonics to stay here. But I see a new team arising in the future.
What will the next "big" weather event be?
Nothing too shocking. I see a hotter than normal summer, with more fires. And this February-March will be unusual — a lot of rain, but not as much as November.
Any big quakes heading our way this year?
Not this year. But we will feel more and more smaller quakes around the island areas of Washington. A bigger quake is coming in three to five years; there will be some deaths.
Can Hillary become president?
More likely she'd be vice president. But more women will be taking office and taking charge.
Is there hope for the Mariners?
Yes, but probably not this year; 2009 is the year we will have a strong team again. I see a young player coming in who will bring back the love of baseball.
Will Britney make a comeback, or is she toast?
Britney will make a comeback — a more mature and more spiritual Britney. It looks like she is in counseling and working on her "inner spirit."
Gas prices — up or down?
A slight rise in the late spring, early summer. We will have no choice but to pay these prices until the war ends.
The next fitness craze?
Shots that will help people lose weight. I do not suggest them; they could have bad long-term effects, but Americans want a quick fix.
Will the fancy-cupcake craze burn itself out?
Let's hope not!
Now it's our turn: We see Faye the Tattooed Psychic, a former heavy-metal singer who almost never uses her last name (Mills), continuing to give readings two days a week at Tenzing Momo, a shop of herbs, oils and vitamins.
We also see her appearing with other psychics on the third Thursday of each month at the Rendezvous Jewel Box Theater in Belltown. And we see some of you checking out her Web site: www.tattooedpsychic.com.
