Storm releases rookie Ashley Battle

The Storm released rookie forward Ashley Battle yesterday.

Battle, a 6-foot forward, played eight minutes in two games (two points and two rebounds) before being placed on the injured list with a shoulder injury.

Battle, who played at the University of Connecticut, was drafted in the second round by the Storm, 25th overall.

The Storm will play the Connecticut Sun at KeyArena on Wednesday, and center Janell Burse is expected to be in the lineup. Burse was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms suffered Wednesday in the Storm's loss to Minnesota. She did not practice Thursday because of a headache, but is expected to practice Monday when the team returns from a three-day break.
