Port of Everett hires terminals manager
The Port of Everett has hired a new manager for its marine terminals, Port officials announced yesterday.
Scott Grindy began his job at the Port on July 19. As manager, Grindy will direct and coordinate operations at the Port's three marine terminals and oversee security.
Among other duties, he also is responsible for repair and maintenance of equipment, vehicles and buildings.
"Scott brings many years of supervision and management experience to the Port, which makes him a great fit for the job," said Carl Wollebek, the marine-terminals director, in a news release.
Grindy is the former director of facilities at the University of Washington and the Cascadia Community College campus in Bothell. He has also served as the director of campus services at Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland, and has been a hazardous-materials and facility instructor for years.
Grindy received an associate's degree from North Seattle Community College and vocational certification from the University of Washington.
"There is so much growth coming at the Port," Grindy said in the news release. "It's an exciting time to be starting here."
