Seahawks signed new player today, worked out another at QB

The Seahawks signed a new player earlier today and worked out another at quarterback.

Remy Hamilton, a five-year Arena League veteran, signed with the team and becomes the second kicker in training camp. He joins Josh Brown, a rookie draft pick from Nebraska.

Hamilton filled the roster spot left vacant after wide receiver Emmett Johnson left the team last week. A former All-American at Michigan, Hamilton played for four different Arena League teams.

Joe Germaine, a former quarterback for the St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, tried out for Seahawks coaches and front office personnel following the morning practice. He has not yet been signed.

Germaine has been a third quarterback for most of his career. The Seahawks have three healthy quarterbacks in camp right now — starter Matt Hasselbeck, second-year player Jeff Kelly and rookie Seneca Wallace. Trent Dilfer, expected to open the season as the backup, is still unable to practice because of a pulled muscle in his rib cage.
