Remodeling awards announced

Here are the winners of the annual REX awards for remodeling excellence, presented recently by the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. The contest was judged by a group of local experts in the building industry, including architects and remodelers.
The winners are: Stone Pillar Remodeling, for a major remodel under $100,000; City Builders, for a major remodel between $100,000 and $250,000; and Weitzel Construction, for a major remodel over $250,000.
In the kitchen and bath categories, Sandy's Design & Remodeling won for a kitchen under $40,000; JBL Construction won for a kitchen between $40,000 and $75,000; and City Builders, for a kitchen over $75,000. Gaspar's Construction won for a bath under $20,000 and Steve Williams Custom Homes for a bath over $20,000.
Stone Pillar Remodeling won the category for a room addition of $50,000-$150,000. Steve Williams Custom Homes won for a room addition over $150,000. Entry or porch over $25,000 was won by Vanderspek Remodeling.
The award for associate design element went to Windows, Doors & More, associate technical expertise to Vision Woodworks, details and finishes to HCS Construction.
Prestige Custom Builders won in the open category.
