Gipson, Sanders help Tacoma trip Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta - Two-run triples by Anthony Sanders and Charles Gipson sparked the Tacoma Rainiers to a 5-3 win yesterday over Edmonton, ending the Trappers' seven-game winning streak.

Sanders, who went 3 for 4, opened the scoring with a two-out triple to left field in the first inning. Gipson tripled in two runs in the sixth and then stole home.

Pat Ahearn (5-2) gave up three runs - one earned - on five hits over eight innings. Tom Davey pitched a scoreless ninth for his first save.
