Griffey's Issaquah home on market for $2.3 million

ISSAQUAH - Ken Griffey Jr.'s mansion - complete with circular driveway, lighted sports court and children's play gym - is up for sale. Asking price: $2.3 million.

Now that the ex-Mariner All-Star has moved to his hometown of Cincinnati, the family is selling its home in Issaquah. Neighbors include Mariner Jay Buhner.

Promotional material sent to real-estate agents last week describes the 1992 home as "a haven from the outside world. . . . The approximate 5,000-square-foot home is wrapped in its manicured setting."

The four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home has a gourmet kitchen described as a "caterer's delight or a cook's dream."

Griffey, who holds a major-league record as the youngest player to hit 400 home runs, is playing this season for the Reds in Cincinnati, where his father is the hitting coach. He owns another home in Florida.
