Chelsea Garrard, Holy Names fastpitch softball

The freshman pitcher improved her Metro record to 12-0 with two impressive wins. The Cougars beat Ballard 5-2 as Garrard struck out 14 hitters. She struck out 13 as Holy Names beat West Seattle 1-0.

Tim Preston, West Seattle baseball

The senior outfielder hit three solo homers in three at-bats in an 8-3 victory over Cleveland. He went 6 for 10 in a three-win week for the Indians. The three victories, which included a 9-7 decision over Ballard on Monday in which Preston doubled, enabled the Indians to make the Metro League playoffs.

Shorecrest fastpitch softball team

The Scots had a 4-0 week and moved into a tie for second place in their division of the Western 4A Conference. The victories included a 5-0 win over defending state champion Kamiak on Thursday in which Kristina Thorson struck out 17.
