Dome pranksters may be charged

SEATTLE - A skateboarder climbed to the Kingdome roof this week, and his friend videotaped the gnarly performance.

Construction crews in charge of demolishing the Kingdome weren't impressed. They say the pair could be prosecuted for trespassing and announced tighter security because of the breach.

The skateboard stunt, aired on KING-TV last night, was said to have taken place early Monday. The pranksters apparently disguised themselves as construction workers.

The security force at the stadium was doubled Tuesday because of the arrival of explosives, and all workers now must wear identification badges. A daily briefing is held with workers to stress the importance of safety and security, the company said.

Thomas Gerlach, Turner Construction's vice president, said yesterday there now are two fences around the Kingdome. One is designed to keep crews building the new football stadium out of the demolition area. The other is to keep the public out.
