Northwest Theme Park Planned
LAKEWOOD, Pierce County - American Lake Gardens, a blighted area between Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base, will become the site of the biggest amusement park in Washington and Oregon if a Kentucky developer has his way.
Under a development agreement signed yesterday, the park would contain gut-wrenching roller coasters, water slides and other attractions with a "Great Northwest" theme.
Michael T. Fallot of Louisville, Ky., a vice president of The Great Northwest Development Co. said the park could be open within three years. It would be more than twice as large as Enchanted Village in Federal Way.
