4 Seattle Schools Get New Principals

At least 13 Seattle schools will have new principals because of retirements and reassignments, district officials announced this week. In addition, a number of the district's assistant principals also will have new assignments in the fall.

Four principals have announced their retirements: Karen Ho'o from Sanislo Elementary, Evette Mardesich from Broadview-Thomson Elementary, Robert Radford from Meany Middle School and Dorothy Woods from Northgate Elementary.

These principals will move to new assignments in September:

-- Claudia Allan, from Concord Elementary to Montlake Elementary.

-- Christi Clark, from Montlake to Broadview-Thomson.

-- Sharon Hatcher, from Broadview-Thomson assistant principal to principal at Concord.

-- Joanne Bowers, from Coho Alternative School to Orca at Columbia.

-- Ben Wright, from Orca to Thurgood Marshall Elementary.

-- Ed Jefferson, from Thurgood Marshall to Northgate.

-- Rickie Malone, from African American Academy assistant principal to principal at Madrona Elementary.

-- Ed Brown, from Madrona Elementary to another assignment as yet undetermined.

-- David Dockendorf, from Alki Elementary to Pathfinder School.

-- Carol Lake becomes the principal at Roxhill Elementary, where she has been the interim principal.

Principals for Alki, Sanislo, Coho or Meany have not been selected.

In addition, these assistant principals will move to new schools in the fall:

-- Fred Bannister, from Roosevelt High to Garfield High.

-- Ruth Bartron, from Sealth High to Cleveland High.

-- Betty Gray, from Cleveland to West Seattle High.

-- Michael Lanctot, from Marshall Alternative to Sealth.

-- Rosenda Luna, from West Seattle to Franklin High.

-- Donna Marshall, from Roosevelt to Franklin.

-- Mike Musselwhite, from Franklin to Roosevelt.

-- Frances Sobers, from Franklin to Garfield.

-- Lou Wilner, from Garfield to Marshall Alternative.

-- Eric Faulkner, from McClure Middle to Meany Middle.

-- Patricia Guenther, from Eckstein Middle to Hamilton Middle.

-- Chris Jenson, from Hamilton to Eckstein.

-- David Paul, from Pathfinder to View Ridge Elementary.
