Kellie O'Neill 6-1, F, Sr., Meadowdale Two-time Star Times pick owns 16 school records, including career scoring (1,313 points), rebounding (772) and blocked shots (159). Three-time all-WesCo selection and Husky signee has averaged 16.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks top-ranked, unbeaten Meadowdale to fourth straight state tournament.

Ann McColl 6-2, C, Sr., Cascade Wyoming-bound, four-year starter averaged a double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) to lead Bruins to first state tournament berth in school history. Had 20 points and 20 rebounds in regular-season finale that clinched Cascade's first league title since 1985. A dominating inside presence. Averaged 2.1 blocks, shot 57 percent from the field.

Kristen Poe 5-8, G-F, Sr., Enumclaw The only returning starter from last year's 4A state runner-up team, Poe has shouldered the load for the Hornets, averaging 24.8 points, 13.5 rebounds, 6.5 steals and 4.0 steals. SPSL North Division MVP scored 30 or more points six times, with a season-high 36. Plays with tremendous heart and desire. Likely will play at Air Force.

Lindsey Wilson 5-9, G, Sr., Roosevelt Led Roughriders to their second straight KingCo 4A title, a state-tournament berth and 24 consecutive victories to start the season. Averaged 22 points, 7 assists, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Ultra-determined player with natural ability and willingness to do what it takes to get better. Chose Iowa State over Arizona State.

Tyler Besecker 6-6, F, Sr., Mercer Island KingCo 3A MVP played out of position this season, filling the post instead of floating on the wing, and helped undersized Islanders win third consecutive league title. Averaged 16.4 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks, and always defended opponents' toughest inside player. Turned down Penn to walk on at Stanford.

Curtis Borchardt 6-11, F, Sr., Eastlake Unanimous KingCo 4A MVP averaged 30.2 points in league, 27.4 in regular season. Led Wolves to their best record and first state tournament. Can score inside or from three-point range. Dominates the lane defensively. Stanford signee averaged 14.9 rebounds, 5.7 blocks. Had high games of 46 and 41 points, and 10 games with 30 or more.

Jamal Crawford 6-5, G, Sr., Rainier Beach Gifted, flashy player is among most entertaining to watch in state history. In first high-school season, helped Beach win state 3A title last year. Fifth-year senior averaged 22.6 points, 8 assists in league this season. Wonderful leaper and shot blocker. One of two repeat Star Times boys selections, with Borchardt. Committed to Michigan.

Teyo Johnson 6-7, F, Jr., Mariner Star Times' only underclassman is being recruited coast to coast. Versatile big man can handle ball on perimeter and in paint. Averages 18.0 points, 11 rebounds overall, and 24.3 points in playoffs. Led Marauders to first state tournament since '91. Voted top power forward from California to Washington by West Coast Hoops rating service last summer.

Ryan McDade 6-6, F, Sr., Enumclaw SPSL North Division MVP for second straight season. Led league in scoring and rebounding both seasons. Averaging 21.0 points, 14.0 rebounds this season, leading Hornets to 4A state tournament for first time since 1996. Had 25 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks in victory that clinched state-tournament berth. Committed to Northern Arizona.


Bill Resler, Roosevelt girls First-year coach led the Roughriders to their first state berth since 1993, when it was a Class AA school. Roosevelt has not been to the big-school tournament (now 4A) since 1981. Resler, a former practicing lawyer who teaches tax law in MBA program at University of Washington, spent four previous seasons on Roughrider staff. KingCo 4A champion Roosevelt was 24-0 and ranked No. 2 in state before losing to Lake Washington in a playoff game last Saturday.

Phil Lumpkin, O'Dea boys Won his fourth Metro League championship in five seasons and has been to the state tournament seven consecutive years. Irish lack consistent scorer, but have prevailed with tenacious defense. Lumpkin played college basketball at Miami of Ohio, then spent a year each with Portland and Phoenix in the NBA. Was on Phoenix team when Garfield Heard made his "Shot Heard Round the World" in 1975 playoff game against Boston in what has been called the most exciting NBA game of all time.
