`Crow' Stuntman Dies On Location

SQUAMISH, B.C. - Stuntman Marc Akerstream died over the weekend after he was injured on the set of the television series "The Crow."

Ackerstream, 44, died after he was hit by a piece of debris during a controlled explosion Friday while the series was shooting at Minaty Bay, north of here.

It was during filming of the original movie version of "The Crow" that actor Brandon Lee, son of martial-arts legend Bruce Lee, was killed in an on-set shooting accident in March 1993.

Akerstream's fellow stuntman, Lauro Chartrand, said Akerstream was simply a bystander when he suffered the fatal injury. The explosion was not part of a stunt, and Akerstream had nothing to do with it, Chartrand said.
