Jenny Maag, Bothell basketball
The 5-foot-11 junior was named to the all-tournament second team at last week's Class 4A girls state basketball tournament at the Kingdome. She averaged a team-high 14 points and eight rebounds to help the Cougars earn their first state trophy. Her high game was 20 in a 79-50 quarterfinal victory over defending state champion Federal Way. She also scored a team-high 18 in a semifinal loss to top-ranked Enumclaw.
Bothell girls basketball team
The Cougars placed sixth at the Class 4A state tournament at the Kingdome. The Cougars beat Rogers 52-47 in the first round and defending champion Federal Way 79-50 in the second round before falling to top-ranked Enumclaw 64-55 in the semifinals. Bothell finished the tournament with a 39-38 loss to Richland in the game for third and sixth place. Junior Jenny Maag and senior Becki Ashbaugh were named to the second-team all-tournament team.
