Helicopter Service To Link Seattle With Victoria, B.C.
SEATTLE - The first international helicopter service to link Seattle with Victoria, B.C., will begin operating May 22 from Boeing Field to Victoria's Harbour Heliport. Continuing flights to Vancouver, B.C., also will be available.
"Our research indicated that Victoria and Seattle travelers wanted more travel choices," said Danny Sitnam, president and chief executive officer of Helijet Airways.
The flights will be competitively priced and display spectacular views of the San Juan Islands, he added.
Three daily flights are planned, departing Seattle at 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. Fares for the 34-minute flights will be $92 one-way or $170 round-trip, although excursion fares also will be available. Reservations can be made through travel agents or toll-free, 1-800-665-4354.
The flights will be aboard 12-passenger, twin-engine Sikorsky S-76 helicopters operated by Helijet, which has been flying between Vancouver and Victoria for more than a decade.
A small-package service also is being offered.
