Suspect Will Be Arraigned

CARNATION - Garth Eric Lien, accused of shooting at 13 young adults on the Tolt River in July, will be arraigned in King County Superior Court tomorrow on second-degree assault charges.

Lien, 34, could be jailed three to nine months if convicted.

Thirteen young men and women gathered on July 13 on the bank of the Tolt River for a rafting trip. They saw a man crouched behind a log holding a gun pointed in the air. The man allegedly fired several shots over their heads into the opposite bank, the charges state.

Lien, according to the charges, later conceded he was out of line and invited the people to a barbecue at his house.
