NBA League - Announced that the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association have reached agreement on a collective bargaining agreement that would be in affect through the 2000-2001 season. Fined the Chicago Bulls $100,000 for allowing Michael Jordan to wear No. 23 during the playoffs instead of No. 45. HOCKEY

NHL League - Approved the sale of the Quebec Nordiques to the Denver-based COMSAT Entertainment Group for $75 million.

NHL Board of Governors - Elected Harley Hotchkiss chairman of the board.

USA Basketball - Named Bobby Cremins, Clem Haskins and Jerry Sloan assistant basketball coaches for the men's 1996 Olympic basketball team.
