Woodinville's Tuiasosopo To Play Volleyball For UW

Leslie Tuiasosopo, one of the nation's most highly recruited prep volleyball players, has signed a letter of intent to play for Washington.

The 6-foot-2 middle blocker from Woodinville High School is the daughter of Manu Tuiasosopo, former UCLA and Seattle Seahawk football player.

An All-KingCo Conference volleyball player, Tuiasosopo also plays for the Seattle Juniors, the top club team in the area.

"Leslie plays volleyball like her dad played football," Washington Coach Bill Neville said. "She's very, very competitive. She's a tenacious, bulldog type of player."

Tuiasosopo, also an outstanding basketball player, is the volleyball team's only signee. The Huskies lost just one senior from last year's team, which reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Note

-- Jennifer Stinson, a three-sport star from Davenport, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Washington State. Stinson is a two-time Street & Smith All-American basketball player. She has led the Gorillas to two Class B state titles in basketball and one in volleyball. The Cougars also signed Jennifer Canevari of Stockton, Calif., and Nikki Hubbert of Bakersfield, Calif.
