Dobbs Completes Purchase Of United Airlines' Kitchens

SEATTLE - Dobbs International Services Inc., a Memphis-based subsidiary of The Dial Corp., has acquired and begun operating the former United Airlines flight kitchen at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Dobbs has hired 200 employees - many formerly with United, including general manager Lyell Cook - to prepare 7,000 meals a day for 50 United flights.

The Seattle and Honolulu flight kitchens, acquired last week, were the last of 15 that Dobbs purchased from the carrier for $119.4 million over the past five months.
