Idaho -- Olympic Stars On The Ice At Sun Valley This Summer

Idaho's Sun Valley ski resort doesn't run its lifts in summer, but it will sizzle on ice.

Ice-skating performances will begin on June 11 and run through mid-September at Sun Valley, one of the West's oldest ski resorts.

Skaters will include 1994 Olympic gold medalist Oksana Baiul and silver medalist Nancy Kerrigan.

Other world champions and medalists who will skate in the Sun Valley Summer Ice Shows include Viktor Petrenko, Kristi Yamaguchi, Brian Boitano, Scott Hamilton, Paul Wylie and Katarina Witt.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on May 16 through the Sun Valley Sports Center, (208) 622-2231.

This summer, Sun Valley also is offering a series of outdoor symphony concerts plus blues, rock and jazz shows, including performances by Branford Marsalis and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Although the lifts don't run, there's plenty of other recreation including hiking, fishing, river-rafting, golf and tennis.

For more information, contact Sun Valley at (800) 786-8259 or a travel agent.
