Davis Wright Opens First U.S. Law Firm In Shanghai
SEATTLE - Davis Wright Tremaine said it has been selected by the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of China to be the first U.S. firm to open a law office in Shanghai.
Jerry Zhu, partner, will head the new office, which is the firm's first in China. The firm of 280 lawyers began focusing on China in 1981 and has a staff fluent in many Asian languages. Its lawyers advise U.S. companies doing business in China and represent many Chinese companies doing business on this side of the Pacific Rim in a wide variety of interests from airlines to steel mills.
