Ktzz-TV To Feature Radio News
Ever wonder what really goes on in a radio station? Find out this Monday, when KTZZ-TV-22/Cable 10 begins its simulcast of KIRO Newsradio Live! from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday. KTZZ will provide graphics and film the KIRO radio news team in action.
"We've already had a good relationship with KIRO," said KTZZ creative director John Schoonover. KTZZ currently broadcasts a KIRO news show at 10 p.m. daily. "We think their radio is an excellent product and a newsleader in the market."
KIRO Newsradio averages a weekly listening audience of 600,000 people.
The KIRO morning team features host Bill Yeend, news anchor Gregg Hersholt, sports reporter Wayne Cody, weather updates form Harry Wapler, traffic updates from Paul Brendle and financial reports from Gary Christianson.
"We're taking (radio) a step further by hopefully showing the `behind the scenes' look," Schoonover said. The audience "can see what happens in the radio booth, warts and all."
