Gotcha!

The $3.5 million Aldus advertising account has been snagged by McCann-Erickson/Seattle.

McCann beat out two California agencies and Cole & Weber/Seattle.

The agency got its foot in the door last year when it came to Aldus with an idea to do an ad based on Boris Yeltsin's use of Aldus Pagemaker to publish a newspaper during the Soviet coup attempt.

Aldus liked the idea so much that it ended up running the ad in three languages. And clearly, it liked McCann's chutzpah.
