MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks today acquired the rights to 6-foot-10 forward Anthony Avent of Seton Hall in a three-way trade with the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks.
Avent, drafted by the Hawks with the 15th pick in last Wednesday's NBA draft, first had his signing rights traded by Atlanta to the Nuggets for center Blair Rasmussen.
The Nuggets then traded the rights to Avent to the Bucks for Milwaukee's No. 18 pick, Southwestern Louisiana forward Kevin Brooks, plus Milwaukee's second-round draft choice in 1994 and other considerations.
The three-way trade was first reported last week.
In addition to acquiring Rasmussen, the Hawks traded Spud Webb to Sacramento in exchange for Travis Mays.
It was the second straight year the Bucks have traded their first-round pick. Last year they sent No. 16 selection Terry Mills to Denver for center Danny Schayes.
