Bicycle Lanes Established On Dexter Avenue North

LOWER QUEEN ANNE/LAKE UNION

The silently spinning wheels of bicyclists commuting to and from downtown now have a better road to travel on.

Four-foot bicycle lanes have been created on each side of Dexter Avenue North between Valley Street and the Fremont Bridge, already one of the busiest bike routes connecting with downtown. It's one-way bike travel only, with the outbound lane from downtown on the east side of the street and the inbound lane on the west.

Bicycle symbols and white stripes mark the lanes.

There are about 16 miles of bike lanes in the city.
