Plush Pippin Foods Puts Operations Into One Pie

KENT

Plush Pippin Foods, maker of wholesale pies for supermarkets, has consolidated its operations, here.

Led by turnaround artist Jack Sutton, the recently troubled company closed its corporate office in Federal Way and moved management to its new headquarters and manufacturing facility, here.

To raise capital and trim expenses, Plush Pippin also closed two pie plants in Portland and Los Angeles and sold its chain of restaurants in Tukwila, Tacoma, Portland and other cities.

"Things have turned around," says Sutton, president and chief executive officer. "They're as solid as they get for a small company."

Sutton specializes in improving operations at troubled companies. Hired more than three years ago by Plush Pippin, he says he will stay on with the company for an undetermined length of time.

Plush Pippin employs 60 people, here, and is expected to report about $13 million in revenue this year. It sells frozen pies to supermarket delicatessens.
