Heidi Bruehl, German Actress-Entertainer

STARNBERG, Germany - Heidi Bruehl, an actress and entertainer who shared the Las Vegas spotlight with Sammy Davis Jr. and others, has died, her agent said. She was 49.

Ms. Bruehl complained of serious stomach pains on Thursday and was taken to a hospital in this resort near Munich, said agent Carla Rehm.

She underwent emergency surgery but never regained consciousness and died Saturday, the agent said. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Born in Munich, Ms. Bruehl began her movie career at the age of 12 and landed several leading roles.

From 1970 to 1972, Ms. Bruehl starred in shows in Las Vegas and later founded a movie company with her husband, Brett Halsey.

After the couple divorced, she began producing records and returned to Germany, where she acted in several popular television series. She appeared in more than 20 movies in Germany.

She is survived by a son and daughter. Funeral arrangements were

pending.
