UCLA Gymnastics Win Husky Meet
SEATTLE - UCLA scored 187.95 points to win the Husky Classic women's gymnastics meet at the University of Washington last night.
Husky junior Shylo Milner tied for top honors in the bars and placed second in the all-around, matching her career-best mark of 37.85, but the UW was unable to defend its title.
Milner scored a 9.65 in the bars, tying for first place with UCLA's Rhonda Faehn. The Bruins won the team competiton with 187.95 points, led by Faehn's top all-around tally of 38.4.
The Huskies amassed 184.15 points to place second. Seattle Pacific was third (182.10) and Minnesota fourth (179.35).
UW junior Tashy Simonton, a product of Lake Washington High School, posted a 9.55 performance in the beam to tie for first place with UCLA's Gina Pesce.
Seattle Pacific was led by junior Corine Frohm who finished fifth with an all-around total of 36.75.
Two Huskies registered 36.65 marks to tie for sixth place in the all-around, Lisa Churchill and Cathy Macintosh.
