Day Care Offered In Mukilteo Schools

Day-care services, before and after school, will be offered to Mukilteo School District elementary and preschool children this year under agreements with the Southeast Family YMCA and the Snohomish County Boys and Girls Clubs.

The YMCA will provide day care at three elementary schools - Columbia, Picnic Point (for Picnic Point and Serene Lake pupils) and Olivia Park (for Olivia Park and Discovery pupils) - and at House 1 of Explorer Junior High School (for Challenger and Horizon Elementary School pupils). Preschool also will be offered at Explorer House 1 for all district 3-to-5-year-olds.

The Boys and Girls Clubs will offer services at Mukilteo, Fairmount and Lake Stickney Elementary Schools.

Programs will operate between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., with care offered for early school dismissals, late starts and school holidays.

Fee schedules range from about $90 a month for full-time before-school care to about $190 for full-time before-and-after-school care. Fees for preschool and kindergarten care can range up to $336 for full-time before-and-after-school care. Scholarships are available to qualified applicants.
