Police Investigate Baby's Abduction

Fifteen Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers have been assigned to investigate the abduction of a 2-month-old baby girl from an unlocked car in a suburban shopping mall.

A Maple Ridge millworker, Awtar Paul, 50, and his wife, Daljit, 23, left their daughter Harpreet Paul sleeping in her car seat Wednesday evening while they shopped with two other children.

The Pauls returned to their car half an hour later to find the baby missing.

Investigators said Friday a witness had seen a man boarding a bus with a baby in his arms at about the time the baby disappeared.
