A little rosé, please, on the rocks

It's the Friday before the unofficial start of summer, which means my To-Do List includes looking for fun ways to procrastinate online.

I think I'll shop for some fancy colored diamonds.

Formerly exclusive to the J.Los of the world, the rare — and expensive — colored diamond is now available in a rainbow of shades at Seattle-based Blue Nile (www.bluenile.com/fancycolor). The online retailer this week launched its collection of 90 diamonds in colors such as orange, pink, yellow, green and red.

"They're crazy rare," said spokesman John Baird. "We have one that we think is the only one available for sale in the world."

You can get a half-carat yellow cushion-cut diamond for $2,250, but why be practical? The 3.65-carat pale-pink diamond is prettier for $650,000. And since you're surfing the Web instead of working, surely you can afford it.
