Daily Candy with a taste of Seattle — that's sweet

Seattle has finally joined the worst-kept secret girls society that is dailycandy.com. And it's about time, because I'd been starting to feel a little defensive. Seattle is just as smart and pretty as all those other cities. Maybe smarter. Humph.

The popular e-mail subscriber service delivers daily advice about local treats, from new shops and spas to quirky services and works of art. Seattle is the 12th city to join the Daily Candy family, which started in New York.

"It's stuff you haven't heard of before, stuff you can do or buy or be inspired by," says Dannielle Romano, Daily Candy's editor-at-large. "Seattle's one of those cool gems that's been on our wish list for a long time, and we finally found the right person to do it."

Daily Candy Seattle's new editor is Jasmine Moir, 27, who expects the Seattle edition to be a bit more gender neutral — i.e., "not just for girls!" To sign up, go to www.dailycandy.com.
