Rainier Symphony gets new concertmaster

The Rainier Symphony has appointed a new concertmaster: Ilkka Talvi, former Seattle Symphony concertmaster, who will begin performing with the 25-year-old South King County community orchestra this season.
Rehearsals begin Tuesday, with the first concerts of Wagner, Beethoven and Mozart on Oct. 21-22 in Renton and Tukwila. Season highlights include Ron and Roxanna Patterson in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, and the Saint-Saëns Symphony No. 3 (Organ) in Benaroya Hall.
