Three teenagers die as car hits tree, goes into river
RUCH, Ore. — Three recent graduates of South Medford High School died today in a car crash near the Southern Oregon town of Ruch, the Oregon State Police said.
The patrol said the car was speeding around a curve on Oregon Highway 238 shortly after midnight and went down an embankment before hitting a tree and rolling over, landing in the Applegate River.
The driver was Kyle Ross and the passengers were David Bergin and Jonathan Thibeault, the patrol said. All were 18 and from Medford.
The patrol said it didn't yet know whether the three were wearing restraints.
