Banking: Jan Furey was named vice president/commercial-loan officer at Banner Bank, Kent.
Design: Christopher Overdorf was appointed principal at Jones & Jones Architects and Landscape Architects.
Development: Laurel Spelman was hired as director of residential-real-estate development at Vulcan.
Engineering: Chris Miller was hired as a technology consultant at Sparling. Ken Valder will manage Cooper Zietz Engineers' construction-management and environmental-services practices. Rebecca Dugopolski joined Herrera Environmental Consultants as an environmental engineer.
Food: Phil Hayter was named manager of product development at Dream Dinners, Snohomish.
Health care: David Arterburn, an obesity expert, joined the Center for Health Studies at Group Health Cooperative as an assistant investigator.
Law: Attorney Roger Mellem joined Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland. Jodi McDougall was named office managing partner at Cozen O'Connor. David Domansky joined Davis Wright Tremaine as a partner. Jessica Jensen and J. Zachary Lell were elected members of Ogden Murphy Wallace.
Property management: Kevin Wilfley was appointed Northwest regional vice president at Pinnacle.
Restaurants: Lofty Maamer was promoted to manager at Chandler's Crabhouse.
Eastside
Banking: Patrick McDonough was named vice president and market manager for commercial real estate in the Pacific Northwest at Union Bank of California. He will be based in Bellevue.
Colleges/universities: Jacqueline Hooper was named vice president for academics and research at Bastyr University, Kenmore.
Consulting: Brian Rice was hired as a financial analyst at FCS Group, Redmond.
Convention centers: Brenda Dotson was promoted to director of sales and Kristin Berry to senior convention sales manager at Meydenbauer Center, Bellevue, and Sandra Cook was hired as convention sales manager.
Election services: Matthew Canfield was named director of operations at The Election Trust, Bellevue.
Housing: Amy Linders was promoted to human- resources manager at Redmond-based Aboda, formerly Northwest Suites & Housing Services.
