A & E briefs: Damon marries ex-bartender

LOS ANGELES — Matt Damon married girlfriend Luciana Bozan during a private ceremony Friday in New York City, his publicist said.

Bozan's 7-year-old daughter witnessed the ceremony. In a previous marriage Bozan went by the name Luciana Barroso.

The publicist wouldn't discuss an "Access Hollywood" report that Bozan is pregnant.

The actor and Oscar-winning screenwriter met Bozan while she was working as a bartender in Florida.

Damon is in New York shooting "The Good Shepherd" with Angelina Jolie.

Couric coy about jumping to CBS

NEW YORK — In a conference call to spotlight the "Today" show's 10-year streak as the top-rated morning news program, co-anchor Katie Couric knew the real question on everyone's mind: Will she be staying at NBC?

"I know there's been a great deal of speculation in the press, and while I appreciate the interest, kind of, I just thought I'd say off the bat that my contract ends in May and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do," Couric, 48, said.

She did not confirm reports that she is being wooed by CBS News President Sean McManus to be the next face of the "CBS Evening News," temporarily anchored by Bob Schieffer since Dan Rather left the program in March.
