All-State teams: Dascenzo soccer MVP; Augustavo earns volleyball

The final reward in a season full of riches came this week for Lauren Dascenzo.
The senior from Issaquah High was named the state's Class 3A most valuable player after leading the Eagles to an 18-3 record and the school's first girls soccer state championship.
"I'm really surprised and flattered," Dascenzo said. "I can't believe it."
Dascenzo, a forward, scored a team-best 15 goals and tallied eight assists this season. But she said the individual accomplishments were secondary to the overall team experience.
"Definitely, all the friends I made this year," she said of what she'll remember. "This year was the epitome of the best team I've ever been on. Everyone got along. Everyone was friends, and there was no negativity. The whole team camaraderie was just amazing."
Dascenzo, also a talented basketball and softball player, said she has narrowed her list of college choices to Gonzaga, Portland State and Seattle University.
Issaquah's Tom Bunnell was 3A coach of the year. The 3A all-state team also included midfielders Lindsey Kasser of Issaquah, Ashley Stimpson of Cedarcrest and Tara Hansen of White River; defenders Sarah Jackson of Kennedy and Liz Oldenburg and Brynn Regan of Mercer Island; and goalkeeper Austen Everett of Bishop Blanchet.
The 4A all-state first team included midfielders Dani Oster of Jackson and Rachel Kimball of Puyallup, and defender Miranda Savory and goalkeeper Erin MacIssac of Bothell. Megan Sweeney of Tacoma's Bellarmine Prep was the 4A state MVP.
Augustavo state MVP in Class 3A volleyball
Stephanie Augustavo, who led Bishop Blanchet to the state championship this season, was named the Class 3A most valuable player in all-state balloting by sportswriters and coaches.
The 5-foot-10 senior outside hitter, who will play next year at the University of South Florida, made it a sweep of the 3A awards for Bishop Blanchet after the Braves' Joanne Gilligan was coach of the year.
Among others on the 3A all-state team were White River hitters Sara Bendorf and Shealun Campisi, Issaquah setter Vanessa Perry and Shorecrest libero Lauren Herold.
The 4A all-state first team includes hitters Sarah Conwell of Kentwood and Jalen Pendon of Spanaway Lake, and setter Savannah Reid of Bethel.
