New faces coming to KCPQ-TV newscasts
Changes are afoot at Seattle's KCPQ-TV, where a familiar face will join Q13's morning show while the station's weather folks play musical chairs.
Carmen Ainsworth, a former KOMO reporter, will co-anchor "Q13 Fox News This Morning" with Bill Wixey and Lily Jang starting Monday, the station announced yesterday.
Ainsworth worked at KOMO from 1993 to 1997 before moving to Northwest Cable News as a weekend anchor. She returns to Seattle from WDAF-TV in Kansas City, Mo., where she was an evening anchor.
Meanwhile, meteorologist Monty Webb has left Q13 and will be replaced by Walter Kelly, who moves from mornings to "Q13 Fox News @ 10" starting tomorrow. Weekend meteorologist MJ McDermott will take over Kelly's morning gig Monday.
Rounding out the weather team is new hire Mark Coleman, a Seattle native whom viewers may recognize from KING-TV and Northwest Cable News.
Coleman will replace McDermott as weekend meteorologist on "Q13 Fox News @ 10" starting Oct. 15.
