Questions:

1. How will you address your top three priorities for the position?
Promote a system of linked trails and parks to allow a pedestrian-friendly community. Work to assure that Maple Valley is an effective participant in solving regional-transportation issues. Encourage commercial growth to provide more services for our residents and create a balanced revenue base.

2. What would you bring to this position that sets you apart from other candidates?
In 38 years of enjoying Maple Valley, I bring a dedication to the preservation and enhancement of our city's small-town character and appeal. My civic involvement includes service as a member of the City Council, vice chair of the Planning Commission and chair of our shoreline committee.

3. In a time of strapped budgets, how could your city save money or generate more revenue?
Some solutions to budget issues are the following: continue the prudent fiscal management of recent years, promote inter-city cooperation to fund services where a regional approach makes sense, and seek ways to improve our tax base without sacrificing residential values.
