College: Holly Moore was appointed to the board of trustees for the Council for Adult and Experimental Learning and named chairwoman of the Health Care Personnel Shortage Task Force, by the Workplace Training and Education Coordinating Board.

Communications: Tabitha Bitanga was hired as an account coordinator at Eyeplay.

Construction: Arthur Langlie joined Lease Crutcher Lewis as part of the senior-management team focusing on business development. Tere Carranza was hired at Fine Construction.

Design/construction: Steve Blair was hired as a service manager at SME.

Education: Reba Gilman was named principal and chief executive of the Highline School District's new Aviation High School in Burien.

Engineering: Chuck Estey, Michael Hubbard and Dave Arthur formed Northwest Mechanical Engineering.

Food service: Mara Funk was named customer-service manager at Gretchen's Shoebox Express.

Health care: Jeff Barrett was named manager of information technology and Diane Kolb director of business development and marketing at Visiting Nurse Services of the Northwest. David Richart was named director of programs, Ross Baker director of government affairs and Deborah Edison director of marketing and development at Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Jack Bowman was appointed chief executive and Karen Auditore-Hargreaves was promoted to chief operating officer at NeoRx. Dr. M.C. Chen, Dr. Maureen Marshall, Dr. Kathleen Makielski and Dr. Marcos Antezana were hired at The Polyclinic.

Hotels/motels: Amanda Lowney was appointed associate director of sales at the Sorrento Hotel. Lara Dickson was promoted to reservations manager at the Paramount Hotel.

Internet recruiting: Ryan Marinkovich was hired as an account executive at All Star Directories.

Law: J. Todd Tracy was appointed co-chair of the Bankruptcy Section for the Federal Bar Association's Western District of Washington. David Linehan and Charles Shigley were named associates at Preston Gates & Ellis.

Nonprofit: Corey Denevan and Sheila Allawatt were named board members at Community Living.

Public relations/marketing: Amber Ukena was named vice president at Owen Media. Mike Bergeson was hired at Design For Wine & Food.

Real estate: Brian Seutz was hired as a designated broker, and Nancy Bolin, Doug Smith, Kevin Hinds, Shirla Hinds, Veronique Hval, Kathy Laski and Pieter Salverda were hired as sales associates at Windermere Real Estate.

Software: David Sharp was hired as vice president of IT solutions, Sang Kim was named vice president of operations and Chris Peterson was named vice president of sales and marketing at Morse Best Innovation.

Student loans: S. Peter Aaron was named controller at Northwest Education Loan Association.

Assisted living: Tracee DeGrande was hired as vice president of accounting for Aegis Assisted Living, Redmond.

Construction: Dale Beam was hired as a safety manager, Mike Wood as pre-construction services manager, Gary Foote as superintendent and Derrick Jaske as assistant superintendent at Swinerton Builders, Bellevue.

Insurance: Sharon Hall joined the Healthcare Practice Division at Parker, Smith & Feek, Bellevue.

Media: Joseph Lacson was named vice president of product management and chief financial officer at MSNBC Interactive, Redmond.

Real estate: Julie Arnevick and James Karl were hired as sales associates at Windermere Real Estate, Bellevue. Ginger Downs was named to the National Association of Realtors board of directors for 2004. She is the executive vice president of the Seattle-King County Association of Realtors, Kirkland.
