Teen killed in accident on Highway 2
LEAVENWORTH — A Maple Valley teenager was killed and a woman injured today when three vehicles collided on Highway 2 about 18 miles west of this Chelan County town.
Jeffrey M. Kramer, 18, died at the scene of the 11:55 a.m. crash near the Nason Creek rest area, Washington State Patrol troopers said.
Kramer had been leaving the rest area when the accident happened.
Troopers said he was turning onto the highway heading east when his 1965 Mustang was struck by an oncoming vehicle driven by Eleanor E. Lamontagne, 78, of East Wenatchee.
Lamontagne's vehicle then struck another car driven by Randy J. Morgan, 34, of Silverdale.
Lamontagne was taken to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, where she was in satisfactory condition today, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Morgan was not injured.
