Outlook: Despite a roster devoid of seniors, Cougars are experienced, with six letterwinners returning from playoff team. Four different players led team in scoring in first four games. Kellogg heads group of explosive guards.
Eastlake Wolves
Coach: Lori Newell (2nd year, 5-15)
2001-02: 1-12, 5-15
Returning starters: F Keshia Chaney, 5-9, Jr.; G Caitlin Noble, 5-6, Jr.; P Emily Poblete, 5-11, Jr.

Outlook: Wolves should be improved. Eastlake returns 10 players and added a transfer in Mansoori, who has scored in double figures in each of first four games. They lack height, but have strong guard play and a fast, aggressive style.
Franklin Quakers
Coach: Tanya Washington (9th year, 87-69)
2001-02: 0-13, 1-17
Returning starters: G Raylene Johnson, 5-5, Jr.; F Heather Hoskins, 5-7, Jr.; G Vanessa Lew, 5-5, Jr.

Key newcomers: F Lindy Kogita, 5-5, Sr.; F Krystal Irby, 5-11, Jr.; F Ebony Nelson, 5-9, Jr.
Outlook: Quakers have small, inexperienced team. Franklin has just one senior, and 5-11 Irby is tallest player. Quickness at guard should help team rebound from nightmarish 2001 season.
Garfield Bulldogs
Coach: Joyce Walker (3rd year, 32-16 record)
2001-02: 10-3, 18-6
Returning starters: G Keasha Beard, 5-8, Jr.; G Malia O'Neal, 5-5, So.; F Delaney Conway, 6-0, Sr.
Other key returners: G Ashley Knight, 5-11, Jr.; G Tashara Simpson, 5-7, Jr.
Key newcomers: F Samantha Tinned, 6-0, Fr.; F Lacale Pringle, 5-8, Fr.
Outlook: Bulldogs may be only team that's a serious threat to Redmond in Lakes Division. Garfield was one win short of state-tournament berth last season, when Mustangs beat Bulldogs with last-second three-pointer at district tournament. Garfield's backcourt, with Beard and O'Neal, rivals Redmond's.

Key newcomers: G/F Carole Baumgartner, 5-9, So.; G Nicole Griffin, 5-9, Jr.; F Stephanie Senescall, 5-10, Jr.
Outlook: Under first-year coach Augustavo, Vikings hope to finish in top half of tough Lakes Division. Inglemoor will rely heavily on Boscacci, who has a quick release and can hit the three from anywhere.

Coach: John Appelgate (2nd year, 15-8)
2001-02: 7-6, 15-8
Returning starters: PG Erika Ensign, 5-7, Sr.

Key newcomers: G/P Courtney Helton, 5-9, Sr.; G Amanda Kennedy, 5-5, Sr.; P Amanda Robinson, 6-2, Sr.
Outlook: Juanita lost four starters after a second-place finish in Mountain Division. But don't count out Rebels. They carry six seniors, including two-year starter Ensign, who will be counted upon to score more.
Lake Washington Kangs
Coach: Roger Hansen (11th year, 210-69)
2001-02: 11-2, 16-8
Returning starters: P Kiah Hooper, 6-0, Sr.; W Lindsay Van Nostrand, 6-0, Sr.; W Amanda Burnett, 5-11, Sr.; P Trisha Frame, 6-0, Sr.;

Outlook: Hansen, the league's most seasoned coach, has his team in line for another run at a KingCo title. Lake Washington should battle Roosevelt for top spot in Mountain Division. Experienced Kangs will get balanced scoring from Hooper inside and Van Nostrand outside.
Redmond Mustangs
Coach: Pat Bangasser (4th year, 63-22)
2001-02: 10-3, 22-7
Returning starters: G Jamie Edwards, 5-7, Sr.; G Ashley Graham, 5-7, Sr.; F Katie Henderson, 6-1, Sr.; F Allison Klingerman, 6-0, Sr.; P Claire Pallansch, 6-2, Jr.
Other key returners: G Rachel Gillum, 5-7, Jr.; F Alex Tosti, 5-10, Jr.
Key newcomer: G Mackenzie Flynn, 5-7, So.
Outlook: Redmond is the class of KingCo, returning all five starters from team that was fourth at state. Graham is a Santa Clara signee and Edwards is another Division I-caliber player. Despite carrying just eight players, Mustangs apply full-court pressure that showcases team's conditioning and versatility.
Roosevelt Roughriders
Coach: Bill Resler (5th year, 92-18)
2001-02: 12-1, 25-2
Returning starters: G Shannon Costello, 5-9, Sr.; G Emiko Harris, 5-6, Sr.; F Johanna Hase, 6-1, Sr.; G Darnellia Russell, 5-6, Sr.
Other key returners: G Tracy Leddo, 5-3, Jr.; F Anne Moxon, 5-11, Jr.; G J'Nai Pich, 5-4, Sr.
Key newcomer: G Alex Capeloto, 5-2, Fr.
Outlook: Roosevelt, fifth at state last year, is deep, experienced and athletic. Russell, a second-team all-state selection, will probably return late in season after giving birth recently. Hase is a solid all-around player.

Coach: Mike Cooney (3rd year, 15-26)
2001-02: 5-8, 10-11

Key newcomers: P Dani Everett, 6-0, So.; P Kirsten Fass, 5-11, So.; G Meghan Flaherty, 5-5, So.; G Kathleen Hoffman, 5-3, So.; G Kristen Mittelsteadt, 5-3, So.
Outlook: Falcons will be more balanced after last year's team was carried by first-team all-KingCo player Jaclyn Rice. Woodinville could be upper-tier Lakes Division team.
