Music briefs: Eminem coming to Tacoma

Vitriolic rapper (and responsible parent) Eminem brings his Anger Management Tour to the Tacoma Dome Aug. 6. Sharing the bill is Papa Roach, Ludacris, Xhibit and The X-Ecutioners.

The $39.50 tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ticketmaster outlets (206-628-0888, www.ticketmaster.com).

A similar bill with Eminem and Papa Roach in Washington, D.C.'s RFK Stadium drew 96,000 people over two dates in May. The Aug. 7 Portland show has been on sale since June 7; the show is halfway to selling out the Rose Garden, with a capacity of 14,195 vs. 21,612 for the Tacoma Dome.

Bumbershoot additions

Velvet Underground legend Lou Reed and former Alice in Chains leader Jerry Cantrell have signed up for Bumbershoot this year, which also includes Wilco, Sonic Youth, Wyclef Jean, Jewel and Michelle Shocked.

Discount tickets of $15 purchased before Aug. 23 are good for one day of the four-day festival Labor Day weekend and include admission to the shows, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Approximately 2,500 artists will be featured at the Seattle Center event. Others performing include Everclear, Kristin Hersh, Nappy Roots and Modest Mouse.

Tickets will be available Aug. 2 at Western Washington Starbucks stores, and at Ticketmaster outlets and www.bumbershoot.org now. Kids 12 and younger are free with a paying adult.
