Idaho charges man in attack on Western Washington woman

CALDWELL, Idaho — A man has been charged in the robbery of a Port Townsend woman who was stabbed, beaten and left for dead.

Kenneth Wurdemann, 31, was brought to Idaho from Rock Hill, S.C., on Feb. 27 as a primary suspect in the June 15 attack of Linda LeBrane.

LeBrane, 53, of Port Townsend was forced off Interstate 84 near Caldwell by four people who robbed her, stabbed her, beat her with a bat and slashed her throat.

Wurdemann was charged yesterday with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree kidnapping, first-degree kidnapping, aggravated battery, aiding and abetting first-degree arson, and aiding and abetting attempted first-degree murder.
