April 1998 — Indle King Jr. marries Anastasia Solovieva, whom he met through a matchmaking service. He is nearly 37; she is 18.

Aug. 21, 2000 — King files for divorce while Anastasia is visiting her parents in Kyrgyzstan, in the former Soviet Union. He later joins her in hopes of patching up their stormy marriage.

Sept. 22, 2000 — The Kings return together to Seattle from Kyrgyzstan. A shuttle driver drops the couple off at their Mountlake Terrace home at 2:30 p.m. Anastasia, now 20, is never again seen alive.

Oct. 2, 2000 — Anastasia is reported missing by friends and family.

Dec. 28, 2000 — Daniel Larson, the Kings' tenant, leads police to Anastasia's body on the Tulalip Reservation. Police begin questioning Larson, who is then in jail on an indecent-liberties charge, after noticing that King was a frequent visitor.

Dec. 29, 2000 — Police arrest King in his home. Prosecutors file a preliminary murder charge several days later.

Feb. 5, 2001 — Larson is charged with first-degree murder. Prosecutors say he strangled Anastasia with a necktie while her husband lay across her chest.

April 13, 2001 — Larson is convicted of taking indecent liberties with a 16-year-old girl in an Alderwood Mall restroom.

May 5, 2001 — King is charged with first-degree murder. He also is charged with witness tampering for allegedly urging Larson and another longtime friend to lie about his whereabouts on the night of his wife's death.

Oct. 16, 2001 — Larson pleads guilty to second-degree murder, a reduced charge, in exchange for his testimony in King's trial.

Jan. 16, 2002 — King's trial begins.

Feb. 21, 2002 — King is found guilty of first-degree murder and witnesses tampering.
