The Country Doctor Community Health Centers include both Country Doctor Community Clinic, 500 19th Ave. E., 206-299-1600, and Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center, 2101 E. Yesler Way, 206-299-1900.
No patient is refused service due to inability to pay. Most major medical insurance is accepted as well as Medicaid and Medicare. Those without insurance are asked to cover the cost of their care on a sliding fee based on family income and size.
These clinics are part of a network of community health centers that can include mental-health care and dental care.

Country Doctor is working with the community to raise $500,000 by the end of 2002 for an expansion that will include four new examination rooms. That will allow them to serve more patients (6,000 additional visits) each year.
