Here are some things to know before heading out to the Gorge.

How to get there from Seattle: Take I-90 east to Exit 143/Gorge Amphitheatre. Follow signs to the parking lot (approximately six miles). Allow three hours for the trip. Gates open three hours before showtime.

Parking: It's free, with an easy walk to the entrance. Lots open at 10 a.m.

Accessibility: Signs in the parking lot direct disabled patrons to designated parking areas. A special service vehicle runs between these parking areas and the seating area.

Camping: Available for all concerts, for an extra fee, via Ticketmaster. Open 24 hours, with store, hot showers, restrooms, recreation area and on-site security. Check-out time is noon the day after the concert.

Accommodations: It's best to stay overnight in Eastern Washington rather than drive back to Seattle in the dark. The nearby town of Quincy has some motels, which usually fill up fast. Other cities within a short drive include Wenatchee, Ephrata, Moses Lake and Ellensburg. All offer a variety of accommodations.

Don't bring: Alcoholic beverages, cans, bottles or unsealed plastic containers; recording devices, professional cameras or video equipment; lounge or elevated chairs (low-slung chairs are OK).

Do bring: Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for daytime; a jacket for evening (you will be in the desert; it's hot during the day and cold at night). You can bring a picnic in a soft pack only; no hard coolers. There are excellent food booths at the site.

VIP programs: Visit the Gorge in style via Superseats, with special parking, quick entrance, prime seats and special amenities; or, the primo package, Boxsuites, four- to 10-seat enclosed boxes with full wait service and access to the exclusive Cliffhouse, a full-service bar with indoor and outdoor seating and a great view of the Gorge, plus restrooms with no lines! For information on these special packages, call 206-223-1055 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Information: Call the Gorge Hotline at 206-464-2000, Ext. 7469; or on the Web at www.hobconcerts.com.
