Sahalee (the South-North nines) is the only Washington course to make the magazine's top 100.
Pebble Beach Golf Links in California is ranked No. 1 nationally, followed by Pine Valley in New Jersey, Augusta National in Georgia, Cypress Point on the Monterey Peninsula in California and Oakmont outside Pittsburgh.
Oregon courses making the list are No. 41, Bandon Dunes; No. 88, Eugene Country Club; and No. 96, Crosswater (in Sunriver).
Golfweek magazine ranks Seattle Golf Club 96th among the nation's "classic" (pre-1960) courses. The only Oregon course on the list is Astoria Country Club at No. 97.
Among "modern" courses, the Tournament Players Course at Snoqualmie Ridge near Issaquah is ranked No. 33, and Sahalee is No. 83.
Oregon courses ranked in the top 100 are No. 26, Eugene Country Club (considered a modern course because of major post-1960 redesign); No. 29, Crosswater; No. 32, Pumpkin Ridge (Witch Hollow course); and No. 70, Pumpkin Ridge (Ghost Creek course).
NW Hall of Fame adds seven
The Pacific Northwest Golf Association last week inducted seven individuals into its Hall of Fame, four of them posthumously.

Honored posthumously were Charles D. Hunter Jr. of Tacoma and Roderick Macleay, Don Moe and Rudie Wilhelm, all of Portland.

Rick Acton tourney in June
The second annual Rick Acton Memorial Tournament to benefit the Forgotten Children's Fund and scholarships for young pros taking PGA of America courses is set for June 7 at Washington National outside Auburn. Last year's tournament raised more than $35,000.
The entry fee of $250 for amateurs and $100 for professionals includes a cart, dinner and range balls. Amateurs will play in a scramble format and pros in gross competition. A pro's score can help an amateur scramble team.
For information, call Rick Larson at 360-863-9155. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Acton, a longtime head pro at Sahalee Country Club who played on the PGA and Senior PGA tours, died of cancer in January 2000 at age 54.
Tyee pro hits two records
Mark Olson, pro and general manager at Tyee Valley Golf Course in SeaTac, got hot during one week this winter and shot 64s at Druids Glen Golf Club and Riverbend Golf Course. Both are course records.
Junior program seeks sponsors
The Bogey Bear Golf Foundation, which conducted a fall Little League Golf Program involving 72 children on 12 teams at Jefferson Park, is looking for sponsors for its summer program at Interbay Golf Center.
A sponsorship fee of $750 pays for greens fees and practice balls for eight weeks plus team shirts with the sponsor's name on them.
"We are the first Little League for golf in the country," said Dr. John Lee, Bogey Bear founder. "We have Little League for everything else."
Potential sponsors are asked to contact Juan Cotto, executive director, at 206-722-0600.
