Basketball: Sealth's Knight named state's Mr. Basketball

Erroll Knight, a 6-foot-6 senior guard headed for the University of Washington, has been named Mr. Basketball for the 2000-01 boys basketball season by the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association.
Knight, from Chief Sealth High School, is one of four Metro League players named to play in the all-state games June 30 at the Yakima SunDome. He will be joined on the Class 3A City team by Randy Green of Rainier Beach. Two players from Seattle Prep, Erik Bond and Jeffrey Day, were named to the 3A State team.
Also named to the City team were three players from 3A state champion Mount Vernon - Josh Reisman, Tyler Amaya and Troy DeVries. Justin Waldie of Mercer Island and Isaiah Cormier of Mount Si were named to the City team.
Also named to the 3A State team were Reggie Limar of Everett, Aaron Fitzgerald of Kennedy and Rob Bishop of Sammamish.
Will Conroy of Garfield, Carson Hill of Cascade (Everett) and Jason Ellis of Kentridge were among the players named to the 4A City team. Roger Russaw of Mountlake Terrace, Niko Nunogawa of Decatur and Kyle Jackson of Sehome were among players selected for the 4A State team.
Craig Roosendaal and Kyle Trautman of state champion King's were named to the 1A City team. Three players from state runner-up Seattle Christian - Nate Lindseth, John Hagensen and Max Fletcher - were named to the 1A state team.
Marc Axton of Foss was named 4A player of the year by the coaches association. Other player of the year awards went to Reisman (3A), Lynden Christian's Grant Dykstra (2A), Lindseth (1A) and Sprague-Harrington's Colin Floyd (B).
