Portland bombing suspect arrested in Washington
PORTLAND - A Washington state man suspected of planting a bomb that seriously injured a Portland man has been arrested in Washington on a rape charge and faces a charge of attempted aggravated murder in Portland.
Timothy Michael Goff, 41, of Port Orchard was arrested Monday after a search warrant ordered by Portland police allegedly linked him to the bombing. Police say Goff planted the bomb that went off Sept. 27 in the driveway of 59-year-old Barry Hornstein, who was injured in the explosion. Police think the bomb was intended for the victim's 17-year-old son, Jack Hornstein, who is dating Goff's ex-girlfriend.
Goff is charged with rape of a child in Kitsap County and is being held in the Kitsap County Jail, Portland police Lt. Mike Hefley said. Bail has been set at $650,000.
He is charged with attempted aggravated murder, assault, arson, and the manufacture and possession of a destructive device in Portland, Hefley said.
